I’m Robin and I am so glad you’re considering investing in a doula! Evidence shows that the presence of a labour doula reduces the length of labour and number of interventions, and Dr. John H. Kennell said: “If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it.”

What is a Doula? Doula comes from the greek word “servant” and traditionally referred to the women who surrounded the labouring mother, providing her with all the needed support as she brought her baby earth-side. Doula’s are not medical professionals: we provide physical, emotional, spiritual support from the prenatal period, through the labour to the postpartum period. As birth is one of the most life-changing moments in any woman’s life, it is absolutely worth the investment to ensure you have the most positive experience possible. Whether this is your first or fifth birth a doula can help immensely!
